As a physician led, health based, indoor air testing organisation we recognise that bioaerosols including mould are a common indoor air pollutant and exposure to bioaerosols is associated with a wide range of health effects.  Respiratory symptoms and lung function impairment are the most widely studied and probably among the most important.

Bioaerosols are airborne particles which contain living organisms such as fungi (mould), bacteria and allergens. We provide a specialist sample collection and analysis service for each of these exposures. Following on site collection of samples, they undergo detailed laboratory analysis and all results are evaluated by our medical/scientific team and we deliver a comprehensive report.

Mould Testing 

Moulds are a type of fungi. There are more than 1,000,000 species of mould and 200 different types to which people are routinely exposed. Exposure to substantial amounts of mould and mould spores may contribute to skin, eye and respiratory irritation.

One of our specialists can visit your premises and carry out a combination of air and surface sampling for mould. These samples then undergo laboratory analysis that will determine the presence and concentration of mould spores as well as what types of mould is present.

Bacteria

Bacteria are necessary for many processes and indeed are vital for our own well-being. However there are also a large number of bacteria that may be pathogenic. The exposure of humans to high levels of airborne or surface contaminating bacteria may result in a variety of adverse health effects including infectious diseases, allergic and irritant responses, respiratory problems and hypersensitivity reactions.

We have the technology to carry out both air and surface sampling to both identify bacterial types and concentrations.

Allergen Testing

Allergies reflect an overreaction of the immune system to substances that usually cause no reaction in most individuals. In allergic individuals the immune system mistakenly identifies a harmless substance as a threat. For those with allergic asthma high allergen levels increase the risk for acute allergic and asthmatic reaction. Allergic reaction causes sneezing, coughing, runny nose, sore throat, itching and hives.

Our specialists collect dust samples to evaluate the levels of the most common allergens, using ELISA technology.
